I am also Justice of the Peace (Qualified), a Student Pilot, Massuse, Company Director, IT Consultant, Photographer, DJ retired and a Eccentric! From 2000 to 2010 I was Lee Kernaghan's Personal Assistant, touring just about every square foot of Australia. In 2005 I was chosen by my neighborhood to speak on their behalf on a number of issues effecting our local neighborhood. We formed the Queens Arms Community Action Committee (QACAC) of which I was elected Chairman and media liaison. We successfully lobbied to stop a dance club opening right next door to our character tin and timber residential homes. I was invited to represent the nearest affected neighbors in the set up of the Valley SEP. Recognising those venues that for years have been hosting Brisbanes music scene, establishing boundaries and buffer zones between the clubs and venues and the character areas of the Valley and New Farm. Read our initital submission to then Central Ward Councilor David Hinchliffe. We have successfully lobbied local and state for traffic signals, traffic calming and parking meters with resident exemptions. This has curbed the rat running, hooning, parking nightmares, and made our street a safe place to live. Our community has seen a direct marketing company The Smart Group and their Brisbane office intrude apon our right to quietly enjoy our neighborhood. They have chosen to move on and relocate to a more suitable commercial area. There's more about that at www.ArthurStreetAlliance.com As a Justice of the Peace (Qualified), I continue with the community service theme. Sworn in the state of Queensland November 2004, I assist the Queensland Police Service, the Crime and Misconduct Commission, Customs and other authorities with warrants, searches, representing minors, examinations and the general public with powers of attorney, document certification, affidavit and statutory declarations to point out just a few of the powers we use to serve our communities. I have been a volunteer with the Youth Affairs Council of Tasmania, Queensland Rural Fire Service (Blenhilm), Cerebral Palsy League, Life Line stores, JP services in the Myer Centre and in the Federal Magistrates Court. You may ask why I have this available online. Firstly for myself. A collection for me to reflect on what I have done and the path that has brought me to where I am today. Read more on how I got here. NOTE: comments I make on this and other media are my own and should not be taken as any reflection on my employers. At times these comments conflict with the views of my employers, past and present. They are my own and should be cited as such unless specifically noted.
